Is it the Main or Enterprise file?  And do you have read/write access to wherever it's stored?

What??  Are you saying you copied the file from the network to his/her computer?  Is the read-only attribute toggled on?

No, there is no read only attribute checked on the file
i simply loaded my CUI (saved on network) (loaded from network)
on co-worker computer, and transfered some toolbar to his computer.

i dont see how this could pu the file on read only.

Under the Options dialog, look at the paths for Customization files. If you want to edit the CUI, put it in the Main path, not the Enterprise path.

i have this exact setting, and acad still in read only, this is annoying,
should i create a fresh copy of each .cui file for every user in the company?
i dont know if its the problem i installed custom toolbar many time to different computers and i never got any read only problem :(

You can Share CUI Files over a Network!!?

Does this mean that if we were to do it this way, when I write a new Macro / icon, it would show up on another's workstation the next time they start CAD?

This would be WONDERFUL if this could be done!
