Hi Cad Tutor, thanks for your effort to do it.

 Besides AFRALISP, i did my  first steps in lisp with this tutorial

http://ronleigh.info/autolisp/index.htm

Ron has left it a long time a go, but the link is active, and I recommend it to each beginner who ask for a TRUE BASIC LISP resource .

It is like the ABC's of lisp .
I think it deserve a place  at

AutoLISP Learning Resources

in
http://www.afralisp.net/visual-lisp/tutorials/index.php?category_id=4

Thanks again

Good call. I've added that link.

Any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks, most of those I know and some are already listed at AfraLISP but I have added the Pixel Graphics link - that's new to me and quite good for beginners.

The problem is that the original author is no longer involved and it isn't easy for me to respond to comments.
====

I, me, myself, is (or is it "are?") quite intrigued to see if the coding and tutorials from AfraLisp still work on 2011.
I know that the basic AutoLISP/Visual Lisp programs work 'cos my design office is still running them. But, I've tweeked them over the years to take care of changes AutoCAD has made over the past 4 or 5 years. I also notice that when I had to revert to 3rd Party software, some of them do not exist anymore - another conversation required here.
=====
I would be very happy if someone could run through all the coding and see if it works.
I typed it in line by line in "Command" line window. Including looping and sub routines. Hey, I did most of it with only Notepad!!
In fact, AfraLisp until the later years, was written and updated in basic HTML using only Notepad.
=======

If some poor soul would like to give this a shot and they have a problem that they cannot fathom, I would then be very happy to help them fix it. (If I can...)
I must say you will learn a lot, not from me, but from trying to figure out why and what you have typed doesn't bloody work.

=====

The tutorial that boggled my mind and made be go into a discombobulated state was this : http://www.afralisp.net/archive/vl/selsets.htm

And what I think is my best piece of work : http://www.afralisp.net/archive/vl/poly2.htm

Regards,

Kenny Ramage

It's been quite a while since I've visited the Afralisp site, but it was quite valuable when i was trying to decipher lisp. However, I do not recall it looking like the attached screen cap. Was it normal to need to select the white space and highlight the text in order to read it?

Thanks, Kenny, for the work you put into Afralisp initially, and thanks to CadTutor for keeping it alive.

The "invisible text" problem in Firefox was one of the main reasons why I decided to completely recode the AfraLISP content (rather than just give it a makeover). I received many emails in recent years (particularly as FF has become more popular). The new site now works in IE, FF, Chrome, Safari and Opera and is standards compliant.

I'm still working on the content but most of it has now been converted.

Kenny's best piece of work has now been updated to the new style.

I guess there are around 25 more tutorials to do  :ugly:
