Windows Explorer and AutoCAD Woes
« on: December 14, 2006, 06:58:18 AM »
This is a good one.

Can anybody tell me why when I double click a file in Windows explorer, autocad fires up in full screen mode?

It has the disadvantage of not being able to get to the menus at the top.

If I type (acet-fscreen-toggle) it looks the same but I get the menus back.

Thanks,

Bob

Came back after Christmas and AutoCAD behaves again.

We will never know the cause.

Oh well thanks for looking.

Maybe AutoCAD has made a New Year's Resolution to be nicer to its users.

Yeah, right!!!

Glad it's back for ya, Bob!  :)

We have a computer lock down called DISOE.

It means that the computer is absolutely tied down, which makes it very frustrating to try to maintain a CAD sytem.

We get transient faults like this all the time.

I ask our outsourced IT resource and they're clueless.

That's progress for ya.

That information would be stored in the Registry. Either in the fixed section or the profile section.
Depending on how tight they have things going or if they regulary update the user registry from one master, someone could have been changing variables one day and it propogated out to all the users...
