What Jeff said, only Datashort cut the two surfaces in.
Then create an Empty surface, and paste those other two into it.
x2
Here's a procedure question, when updating an existing surface, would you recommend just adding the new points to the surface and regenerating it, or leaving it as is, and generating a surface of the new area, then pasting everything together?
I think that would depend.
Is this a small amendment to the data, the addition of supplemental information?
If YES
Then, I would copy the original surface, and add the new information to it, and update the description.
So that one knows as of which date the surface is current.
The Original surface EG1 should then be set to a NO DISPLAY Style, and have the name changed to
EG 1 (Archive) or EG1 (obsolete)
So that others know it is Not the Surface they are looking for.
If however it is of the nature of ADDING proposed Phase 1 information the the Existing model such that Phase Two
can be designed to Match
Then
Export EG to XML
Rename EG and update description as above
Remove Triangles from the Area where the Phase 1 information lies
Paste in Phase 1 Data
The Triangle removal is to prevent the paste operation from A) failing, or B) sometimes there is conflicting information
that 'leaks' through and prevents the paste operation from being 100%.
Should you need the original data, now reimport the file you sent out with XML
Otherwise it remains as achieve in the project folder.
