C3D 2008 Profile Station Labels - Can They Be Moved?
« on: May 29, 2008, 12:03:17 PM »
See the attached image...

I have a profile that ends with station 2+63.34 but that label overlaps 2+50.  Is there any way to move either label for clarity?

(I have a feeling I already posted something like this, but I can't recall)

You would want to do this with a Band Set, and not use any of the axis labels in your profile view style.
The Band Set will allow one to toggle on or off the Start and End Station or apply label WEEDING to keep them from being closer together than the user desires.

Baby step, Michael, baby steps.  Heck, we just got approval for some real, honest to God, Revit Structure training!  We've been "using" it for about 7 months now.  Civil 3D has only been used on a handful of projects, and we're really only using the alignments with a dash of profiles right now.

Baby steps.... :-)

I often wonder about baby steps???

Two of my clients have gone from 'fighting, and hating everything about C3D'
straight to migrating all projects into C3 in under a month and becoming more productive along the way.
One of them jumped right into the Beta Program for 09.
Another to selling a custom application for C3D that they programmed.
Another to exceeding all previous production, on a major infrastructure project in South West Florida.

Did the Band Set solution work as described?

I am having a similar issue in 09 and it is driving me batty.

The band set seems to see this as a major station. It is marking the end of the sampled profile.

I have tried:
The profile band style display settings
The profile view band settings for start and end station
The profile view band settings for horizontal and vertical geometry points

Any ideas? There has to be something simple.

I think its a defect. When I kill the grid buffer on start and end, it respects my authoratah. argh.

I will test this in 09 on Monday.
In the meanwhile adjust your weeding and see what affect that has.

Never mind it is also broken in 08.  Excelent yet another feature that does not function. Thank you autodesk.

OK Dana, how you going to get them to fix this......and how fast?

Looks like a work around might be a dummy profile view with the cell padding the user desires stacked with a the ACTUAL profile with the cell padding off.
