Where to keep civil 3d surface
« on: August 21, 2015, 06:02:31 AM »
Any reason to not have design surface in a separate drawing from the profiles?  Our surfaces include the street design as well as grading outside the corridor (for lots, parks, etc).

We usually keep our design (Civil3D Objects) in there own drawings. We would have a proposed surface in a drawing and then data ref that out. Works pretty good.

For smaller file sizes it is suggested (autodesk) to use DREFS (data shortcuts) for as much as is practicable.

In practice; small design jobs I keep all the data in one file.
