window or crossing selection within a hatch
« on: June 26, 2013, 02:17:14 AM »
(see image inline,  ** edit: for the guests of this forum, you can see the image @ http://prelem.com/hat.png )

I'm trying to select the 3 plines sitting inside the big blue solid hatch in one go by window or crossing selection.

There is no way to select any other object that the hatch itself if I start the selection from a point located inside the hatch boundaries. By contrast, the selection works fine if I start the selection window outside the hatch

Is this the standard behavior or am I missing something ? Is there a system variable involved with that behavior ?

Can you select them by picking?

Thanks for your reply
Yes, selecting each pline by picking works
Not what I'm trying to achieve though

I understand. I just wanted to make sure that they were selectable. I cannot recreate the problem. Can you post a file? Maybe not, as you are new here but give it a try.

I didn't fully read your post earlier. Not quite awake at that time. That is normal behavior. I thought there was a variable for hatches to be selectable only at the boundary, similar to images, but can't find it at the moment.

No problem. If I can verify that that setting exists, I'll be back.
