Text to Mtext
« on: January 17, 2008, 10:11:49 AM »
I am seeking the orginal lisp routine that converts text to mtext. I have both 2006 and 2008 MEP on my computer and neither one has the individual routine and the express tools are loaded on both....thanks

It's not a lisp routine. The file is leaderex.arx that cotains the txt2mtxt command.

It should be there if you've got express tools.

I found the arx file in the 2006 express tools but cannot load the lone file in 2008.

Autocad 2008 also has an leaderex.arx , but you shouldn't have to load it:
Type the command EXPRESSMENU to load the express tools, then the command TXT2MTXT will be available.

We are using 2008 MEP and for some reason the express tools cannot be loaded from the disk....during the load process nothing ever comes up about the tools.

Go to Add/Remove programs and select Autocad that should give you the options to change components of your existing install.. one of which should be to install the Express Tools..

It's kinda tricky during the initial install as you have to customize the setup otherwise you don't see the option to load the tools if you just do a standard install.

Note: If you still want to install Express Tools with either Autodesk Architectural Desktop or Autodesk Building Systems, you can select the Custom installation type during the initial installation and enable the Express Tools option.

If you have already installed Autodesk Architectural Desktop or Autodesk Building Systems without Express Tools, and you now want to install Express Tools, you can use the Change option in the Windows Add or Remove Programs dialog box. You can then access the Add or Remove Features option, which can be used to Add Express Tools to an existing installation.
