Autocad 2008 installation

My company has just purchased Autocad 2008. There is only one disk and it is marked with a label of DVD. When I place the disk into my drive nothing happens...could someone wake me up and explain what is going on...thanks :-P

This may be a dumb question, but do you have a DVD reading drive?

Have you previously used the drive as a coffee holder?

But seriously, view the contents of the dvd using explorer. Do you see any files? One named setup.exe?

Good question...I thought the drive was fully capable of reading everything....let me check. Thanks

I could not read anything on the 2008 disk. Explorer indicated it was blank...I checked the drive with another disk that had files on it and they showed up...so the drive is good

...I'm just glad that the people I work with haven't pushed me to ask "Have you previously used the drive as a coffee holder?" as the first question, lol.

Sounds like he has just a CD drive,  Do you have a DVD drive available anywhere else you can share?

Josh, I wrote a app a while back that used the drive as a soda holder.  It said something to the  effect of click here to install your new soda holder, and it would eject the drive.
