Locking, as far as I can tell. Requires C/A/D to task mgr and shows as 'not respdng'. When 7 restarts, the file comes up as 'program unexpect. failed, rename/save to salvage your data...' I guess I haven't let it sit long enough to know for sure if it is hanging. Usually at the pace I move, 5 min. might as well be forever. Thanks, Bob. Lin-Z, I don't know for sure what the props of the LT97 text is. I will have to look. I have not tried opening a file and then saving immed. to 7, then making edits. I do know that if I open a file in 7, make changes, save, close and then try to re-open with -06 it won't let me. It says something about blah, blah wrong file type. I will give both methods a shot later on today or tomorrow they way the afternoon is shaping up. Mr. Thomas, I should very much like to give an example file to play with.
