Does anyone know what the "(LMS Tech)" means in the AutoCAD version number?

I think it is for License Manged System, as mine kicks back 18.0s (LMS Tech) and I have a registered version.
Everyone has a photographic memory, Some just don't have film.
They say money can't buy happiness, but it can buy Bacon and that's a close second.
Sometimes the question is more important than the answer. (Thanks Kerry for reminding me)

Well if that's not it CmdrDuh it's a good guess. Not sure why they say 'tech' though.

I managed to find this list so it looks like it started appearing with version 2004:
18.0 (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2010
17.2 (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2009
17.1 (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2008
17.0 (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2007
16.2 (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2006
16.1 (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2005
16.0 (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2004
15.2 = AutoCAD 2002
15.1 = AutoCAD 2000i
15.0 = AutoCAD 2000
14.0 = AutoCAD R14

Which leads to another question. What is the 's' after the number in some versions?

You ask too many questions!  :-D

My 2006 is a "Not for resale" version.
My 2004 returns this "16.0"  it is registered & a standard version.

Here's another list I found in the file sysvdlg.dat in the Express directory:
18.0s (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2010
17.2s (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2009
17.1s (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2008
17.0s (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2007
16.2s (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2006
16.1s (LMS Tech) = AutoCAD 2005
16.0 = AutoCAD 2004
15.06 = AutoCAD 2002
15.05 = AutoCAD 2000i

Which differs slightly in the earlier versions from the list above that I found on the web. This one seems to be more accurate. And it looks like the 's' started appearing at the same time as the (LMS Tech).

Ok well that's just the data file for the Express Tool SYSVDLG which is a system variable dialog viewer. You can see that list by running the program and looking under ACADVER.

Command: acadver
ACADVER = "18.0s (LMS Tech)" (read only)

I was just hoping that would shed some light on LMS Tech. If someone can think of some other change that occurred around the 2004/2005 version that might indicate what it means.
