Hello all. Anybody have trouble with 2000 when working with solid models? I do...get freezes and fatal errors all the time. maybe i'm doing something wrong, but I can't imagine what. panning and rotating models is a great way to crash. Co-worker's computer does the same thing with 2000. appreciate any input.

Haven't had the trouble but I've heard of others having trouble with large XREFs and ALL the osnaps set, or hatching associated with xref'd elements.

OK. I'm not real computer savvy, but here's what I know:
"PentiumIII" (From sticker on front of computer!)
"392,740 KB RAM" available, as read from Control panel>System>General tab
"Virtual memory: 576 MB total paging file size for all drives" as read from Control panel>System>Advanced>Performance Options tab.
That help?

Well that's about half the machine you need, if you're gonna be serious about 3D.
I'm running a P4, 2.4Ghz, 1.5Gb RAM machine with Virtual memory set at 1024Mb, and it's just enough for our bigger files (100Mb)

Not "may as well......" you NEED to upgrade! We do 3D here too and I'm b***ching all the time 'bout this POS P4 w/only 1g of memory & 128m vid card!
