Can't erase objects?
« on: June 30, 2008, 09:45:13 AM »
Hi all,

I'm working with somebody else's cad file, trying to erase some objects (text) but won't
erase. Here's what list says about object:

       ACAD_PROXY_ENTITY  Layer: S-TXT-MISC
                            Space: Model space
                   Handle = 142
                   DXF name:         ACAD_PROXY_ENTITY_WRAPPER
                   Class name:       AcDbProxyEntityWrapper
                   Application name: ObjectDBX Classes

Any ideas why I can't erase it? Any suggestions how I can erase it?

thanks,

vinny

Well, I found out how to solve the problem. I changed the variable "proxyshow" to 0
There were a few leftover objects, but I was able to erase them. In case anyone has a
problem with these in the future.

UPDATE!

I tried to solve the same problem on another drawing using the same technique I used on the previous
drawing (last post) but it didn't work this time!?

OK, here's the file. When you open it you will see some partial entities that remained after I tried to delete the some main floor plan drawings.

thanks,

OK guys,

Explain this. When I tried to erase those objects in r14.....couldn't. Then I opened the drawing
in 2007 and they erased without problems. So what's going on? How come I could'nt erase them
in r14?

thanks for looking

Well now I'm really stomped. Opened the drawing in r14 again and couldn't pick, list or erase
the objects in question. Still in the dark.

I just downloaded your file and I was able to erase everything in 2008LT.

Now if THIS wimpy prg is able to do it..... :)

Just throwing this out there - What about an Install problem? Maybe something got discombobulated.

what application is generating the proxy objects?

could be that r14 just wont proxy them correctly, and then need to be saved-as in a way back way that strips the proxy data from them. Perhaps even DXF'ed out to be more backward compatible.
