Is it just me, or is anybody else thinking "Hello!?! Existing functionality...tab key anyone"..?

Glad I'm not the only one.
If this is the sort of thing that will come out of 'Autodesk Labs', it's a joke and they may as well shut it down.

I still can't believe it actually... :-o :-o :-o

I personally would rather create a 2 key shortcut in the pgp file than look at such a distraction, like the tool tips and entry boxes that follow the mouse around, I would switch it off, but that's just me.

I really like the tab key functionallity for commands I don't use often. Especially long command names from the vertical products. Like Mick and probably hundreds of others I find the new tool an annoyance.

Yes, as Glenn basically pointed out, it is time wasted that could have been better spent on something more useful to the end user or developers.

I think it’s a good idea.
Now should it have been at the top of there list?
That’s the real question.

Maybe just me but the auto complete is would be quicker to identify a command you were not to sure about than hitting tab again and again.

Although a small and perhaps trivial app it does help AutoCAD appear as though it’s trying to keep their products up-to-date in appearance and abilities with other newer applications (and I don’t just mean CAD).

Perception is everything.

Perception is everything.

And that perception relies on you at least knowing the first letter (so autocomplete can kick in) of "that command you weren't sure about"

No. It will find the commands containing the letters you type (See screenshot).  Still a waste of time though IMHO. You can achieve much more speed by editing the PGP file or defining your own 1,2 or 3 letter macros.

That's exactly my point. You have to know what to type to begin with.

Glenn;
You know.... I remember hearing about the tab key ability to complete the command name some where but never put any attention to that, when I first read the above - did not have an idea of what you were talking about.... well now I understand what you are saying....

Ditto here. I never knew about the Tab function until I read this thread.
