Double Click Function on Mouse
« on: April 12, 2006, 07:54:17 AM »
Hi there

I hope that someone can help me.  I am on Autocad 2006 and since Monday I have lost my double click function when it comes to editing text.  At the same time I also can not use the delete key on the keyboard to delete highlighted objects.  Does anyone know how to reset this.

Many thanks

Firstly welcome to TheSwamp

I dont use 2006, but in 2005 there is a variable called DBLCLKEDIT that may help you.

this variable can either be on or off. What is it currently set to?

Hope this helps you

Tracey :-)
Thanks for explaining the word "many" to me, it means a lot.

My guess is some wayward lisp routine mangled the value of the AutoCAD system variable PICKFIRST.  It should be set to 1 (i think).

Command: PICKFIRST
Enter new value for PICKFIRST <0>: 1

Pickfirst can also be changed via the OPTIONS command > Selection tab > check "Noun/verb selection".

Glad that someone here was able to help you out.....great resource, Huh?  :lmao: :lmao:

Now that you got your feet wet (pun intended here), take a look around.  There's plenty to do here and a TON of great information scattered throughout the forums.  Stop by the "break the Ice" thread in News....tell us your lifes story.  :lmao: :lmao:  If you need something and think it might be floating around here (it probably is) try the "search" option.  It's awsome what's lurking "below the surface"!!!
