I can make my own walls and they work great.
I can use the provided walls and they work great.
I can use the provided walls with a footing and they work great.

Why can't I make my own walls with a footing and get it to work right?
The wall shows up fine but it is missing the footing.  What's up?!?!?

If you made you footing below the baseline/floorline (can't remember), then after you create the wall, you'll need to make the floorline negative the height of the footing...make sense?

Here's my Foundation Wall Style components from left to right
Code: [Select]

1,Foundation,1,8",-8",0",Baseline,0",Wall Top
2,Footing,1,1'-4",-1'-0",-10",Baseline,0",Baseline

Now, after you add said wall, it will look like a regular wall.  Run the FLOORLINE command, use the OFFSET option with a -10" value.  This will show 10" in the negative Z direction, which will allow you to see the footing.

Now, if you make a tool using this wallstyle, simply adjust the properties of the "Floor line offset from baseline" to have a preset value of -10".  Now whenever you add that type of wall, if you select it from the tool palette, you won't have to manually do the FLOORLINE command.

Now...does it SEEM like it did the trick, or did it do the trick?

Reminds me of Robert Schimmel...stand up comedian...I will assume the role of Mr. Schimmal.

The setup:  He's getting a colonoscipy (sp?)  Doc says he just needs to "look around."

"For what? A parking space?"

"Well, Robert, this detects blood in the colon."

"If that's what you plan on using, I can make a prediction right now!"

So he's feeding it in like the Rotor Rooter guy, and he thinks he can talk to me while he's doing it...

"So who do you like in the World Series?"

I taste metal...

"And then I say 'Take it out, I have to fart!'"

"You don't have to fart, Mr. Schimmel.  It seems like you have to fart."

So then I fart, just like I said I was gonna.  He didn't think it was funny when I asked "Hey Doc...does it smell like I farted in here?  Or does it smeel like it seemed like I farted in here?"

Classic
