Well since I can't copyright the trademark name AutoCAD, I hereby claim the trademark Auto for myself and at the same time I claim copyright on all future incarnations of Autoxxxx. :P

I get my lawyerly education from Groklaw.

I'm a Linux junkie.

They're covering what is probably the most important case in history regarding people who write software (any software) for free.

It's worth a look, trust me.

Introducing 2005 huh!
I guess that means it will be out by march2004?
after all it's not like them to give a years notice
& we can't have 2005 in 2005 thats reserved for 2007?  which of course by then we'll be up to 2011
which should by then see another version name structure change to AlphaCharlie7 :P

R13 was rushed out so fast after R12 that most people never used it. It was perhaps the WORST public release of AutoCAD EVER. We will have to wait and see if 2005 fits the bill.

I know, but 13c4 wasn't resold to look like another release. It was just a bug fix. 2000i seemed like a two in one. A fix and a next release. I bet 2000i is still supported and upgradable. The release it was to fix isn't.

The following AutoCAD 2000 based products were apparently retired on 15 January 2004:

AutoCAD 2000
AutoCAD LT 2000
Autodesk Architectural Desktop R2
AutoCAD Map 2000 / R4
AutoCAD Land Development Desktop R2
AutoCAD Mechanical 2000
AutoCAD Mechanical 2000 PP
Autodesk Mechanical Desktop R4.0
Autodesk Mechanical Desktop R4.0 PP
No mention of 2000i  :o
