Zoom to Point Factor (Civil 3D)
« on: June 10, 2005, 11:15:40 AM »
As you may know in Civil 3D(C3D) you can right click on a point number in the list view of the Prospector tab and select "Zoom To". What I can't find is how to set the zoom factor; or the scale if you will. In LDT you have the option after entering the point number, but not in C3D.

Has anyone found that setting?

I can't find it either.  It seems like the programmers have made several assumptions on the methods most users would use for certain tasks and left out many of the redundant optional methods.  It would seem for this, they think it sufficient for the user to use the mouse wheel to zoom out to the desired field.

Do you have one of those new fangled properties windows fly-out?  See if it's on there.

Sad news, Mark.  I just conferred with my instructor and there is apparently no provision for a user to specify the zoom factor with Civil 3D. It zooms to the smallest possible scale only.  It would appear they think zooming in / out with the scroll wheel is sufficient.  That is IF you have said wheel.
