Null object Id
« on: November 09, 2018, 03:47:42 PM »
I have just got this error message when using BricsCAD Drawing Compare. Any ideals?
It only happens on a few drawings.

Null object Id: <object> (0)
Why is there never enough time to do it right, but always enough time to do it over?
BricsCAD 2020x64 Windows 10x64

did those drawings start in autodcad?

can you perform a PURGE and AUDIT on one of the files that produce the error, and then compare them after?
Be your Best

Interesting...the original drawing was started in AutoCAD and the drawing to compare was a save as drawing in BricsCAD with changes. Only a few drawings give out this error message.

Yes I have purged and wblocked out all of the drawings using BricsCAD.

I’m at a loss as to what to do?

I think the guys at Bricsys might be able to help, you might file support request.

You're probably not going to get much help there, the best thing to do is file a support request and attach the offending drawings.
They can step through the code with a debugger and find the exact problem. In fact, I'm sure Bricsys would like having feedback.
especially since there's a (Carl Sagan, billions and billions) things that can happen to a drawing

Cheers :)

Seconded. I've found BricsCAD support team to be helpful. A welcome surprise after years of Autodesk 'developer support'.
