Table
« on: November 08, 2017, 03:07:27 PM »
I work as a Manufacturing design Engineer. We deal with pipe and piping components, elbows, tees, etc... On many occasions we have to put a sign off block for heat numbers associated with the pipe and components where multiple pieces of the same piece are required. What we do now, as you can see from the attached .pdf, is insert a preset table and copy the table the required number of times to the required number of pieces. For example, piece named 016 with (9) pieces required will be shown on the sign off table as 016.1, 016.2, 016.3, 016,4, and so on.
I wanted to know if there is a better way to do this in AutoCAD by simplying entering in the required number of pieces?
Please see attached .pdf for clarity.

suggest using data extraction, and creating a linked xls table the blocks may need an attribute for uniqueness so that the table counts them all

Thank you.
Can you explain how to do this?

Here is a decent overview:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2016/ENU/AutoCAD-Core/files/GUID-D1433C93-0E7F-46D0-8D05-78DF3626B146-htm.html

For specifics to your particular situation I would most likely need a representative drawing with some of your blocks in it to experiment with
what you
what you want
and how to get it, from your data

Thank you for your help. One of Engineers figured out a fix creating a dynamic block with Visibility states in AutoCAD.
