Result:
The invert ("1474..."; property of the pipe) is displayed correctly
Based on property sets, only simple text (string "123" ) is displayed correctly, but formulas do not display the result but only the formula itself.
Valid for C3D 2017 with and without Enhancement 1.

Any quick ideas how to display the result?

Pretty sure you want to create an expression (formula)

Then add that expression to your pipe labels.

And post and example of your file...Just enough to see what is or isn't working for you.
