COBIE ... an idiots guide
« on: December 06, 2016, 06:43:34 am »
Has anyone got any information about producing COBie data drops that they are willing to share please?

I have the Autodesk COBie extension on my computer, but I just want to know how to use it... do I need to manually fill out anything in Revit to get the spreadsheet to fill out correctly... I am obviously doing something very wrong as the only tabs that are being filled in is the "contact", "facility" and "component" tabs.

This is a BIG learning curve for me, and its the first job with full data drops being done here.

Many thanks in advance

T :)

we are online to do data drops in the near future, but so far we haven't had to do anything, so I'll be following this post with interest

Oh gosh I thought you might have already done it with having used Revit for so long...

Our clients and contractors haven't asked us to do it yet, so we haven't bothered, we have the plans in place, we just need to implement them. It'll take about 2 months we reckon to link our parameters to the relevant cobie ones and update our schedules etc to suit.

My first Revit Project was a COBIE project back in 2012.  Since I was a newbie, I handled the geometry and somebody else handled COBIE.  That as close as I got to it.   :opps:

Thanks for everyones replies... As I figure it out, I will try to write something down as a memory aide for me, and then I will share any knowledge I find useful!
