mouse

my mouse has the little wheely attached to it that keeps going around and around and around and won't stop
I checked mouse settings, seems o.k.......I shut down computer and restarted.....I did a virus scan, says O.K......
Help please, thanks, still doing it now

1.  You might have a hamster.
2.  Are you talking about the pointer or the physical mouse.
