Inserting DWGs from Web Browser
« on: October 24, 2016, 11:08:25 AM »
Just wanting to get alittle feedback. I know back in the day we used to use IDROP with dwf's to insert dwgs from a web browser to the current session of AutoCAD.

Is there any other methods to do this since idrop is not around any more.

I am trying to pull together a webpage with our details and have the users click on a link to insert the dwg into the current cad drawing.

Thanks for the input.

You don't mean Design Center right?..
.. where you can drag blocks and such into an open drawing?

You want the truth, I like the idea. Its integrated and works. Some others are still stuck on the old concept of bringing things in that way.

Just say, "No. That way is no longer available and has been replaced with this."

I remember trying to use iDrop back in the day, it was a pain.
DesignCenter is so much easier to maintain, and it's live (DWGs added or removed show as such). Of course if you are only inserting DWG files and not components of drawings, then you could use Windows Explorer, and still use your HTML page to open various links to Explorer.
