Performance between Command:PU and Command:-pu

Can someone elaborate how the command work differently than each other? I have a file that takes forever just to pull up the Purge Dialog box, and then takes awhile to purge the dwg. The other does the same (I think) but is so much more quicker.

I'm on bricscad so can't test, but I assume PU pulls up the dialog, which scans drawing to preload what can be purged, then does the actual purge, perhaps then refreshes and rescans drawing to update dialog. The command line -PU skips the scanning, just purges.

There are too many variables to give a concise answer. Assuming the computers are the same with similar configurations, it could be a local, a network, or some combination of multiple smaller issues.
