Commands
« on: May 25, 2016, 07:52:10 AM »
I have another idea.  :idiot2:

Is there a method that I could type in a command (that would be general for other commands), then pops up a box that I could select a specific command....

Here's the thought...

Command: Text

(A box menu would pop up next to the cursor that has other commands)
Text Align
Label
Match Text
Rotate Text

I could hoover over the command to execute it.

I use a lot of custom commands and I usually place them on the tool palette or I have specific keyboard command.

Again, ACAD might already do this. I am not sure. But I thought it would be an interesting way to organize all my commands and possibly access them quicker.

Thanks for the feedback!

What version are you using?  Newer versions already do this (provided you haven't turned it off).  I can type in part of the command name and AutoCAD will prompt with a list of matches.  I also have it set to monitor frequency so the most-used commands float to the top of the list.
If you are going to fly by the seat of your pants, expect friction burns.

try {GreatPower;}
   catch (notResponsible)
      {NextTime(PlanAhead);}
   finally
      {MasterBasics;}

dgorsman, I thought of that too but, if you look at his list, they don't all have similar letters. So, that won't work entirely. It might work, if the command names were very similar.

Could someone help me understand how the context right click mouse menu works? Two things I am wondering is where I could place custom commands at. I am assuming it works like the ribbon commands do. Also, if I want to click on an object and right click menu pops up (can I add my own custom commands to that menu as well?)
