MLine vs DLine
« on: May 20, 2016, 11:42:49 AM »
Someone sent me a couple of files made in AutoCAD 2015. I am still using 2013 LT. He saved them down to my version.

Anyways, I discovered 'MLines' in his dwg. - I have never heard of these so I Googled them and found -
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search?search=MLINE#?p=ACD&sort=score

But, from what I gathered from the link, (briefly going over it), MLines are the same as DLine except that it allows you to set a 'Fill', of some type, while you make the line(s).

Are MLines simply a command that came out in a newer version than 2013 or is it a matter of it being in the FULL version of AutoCAD?

I don't need to use it, I am simply trying to learn.

MLines came out with R13 IIRC...  and have not been worked on since the '90s.  Nice idea, lousy implementation, and abandoned ever since.  Biggest failing is inability to arcs of any kind, worst idea is having the sub-entities with assigned properties rather than BYLAYER  = that makes them useless IMHO for anything other that pretty graphics.
