Actually, just went googling and turns out it doesn't stand for anything (publicly). There are a lot of funny answers though.

Here is a copy of the press release from the initial launch (Nov 2, 1993), and there is no mention of it.  :angel:


I wonder if John Lynch would tell us today, 22+ years later?

I always assumed it stood for "Light"
