How do you access your favorite commands?
« on: April 25, 2016, 07:21:41 AM »
Just getting some more user input here. I was curious how people access there favorite commands. Tool Palettes, Ribbon, command line (keyshort cuts), or mouse menus?

I am currently using the tool palette, now creating a new tab called favorites and moving them over.

Thanks for the input!

I assume you're talking about OOTB commands..

For me, I mostly use the command line.
For the ones I use the most: alias' to the actual commands within my acad.pgp file.

Simple commands and lisp routines? Aliases

Macro's? Custom ribbon panel

Palletes are lame and toolbars are being phased out.

Right click shortcut menu, right click contextual menu (time sensitivity turned on), contextual ribbon.

Straight up command access?

80% = command line
10% = toolbars
5% = ribbon
5% = tool palette

Accessing contextual commands in C3D raises the ribbon % somewhat.

Hopefully using the same timeline as the screen menu... i.e. 15+ years ... lol

Right-click context menu a lot, considering the amount of times I use the previous command list.  Command line for a few simple things, Ribbon for more complex tools ("time lost" moving the pointer is miniscule compared to the time spent thinking) unless they're close to the top of the previous command list.
If you are going to fly by the seat of your pants, expect friction burns.

try {GreatPower;}
   catch (notResponsible)
      {NextTime(PlanAhead);}
   finally
      {MasterBasics;}

Aliasedit, or acad.pgp in conjunction with the command line has been the way I've accessed my most frequently used commands for many years.

Digitizing tablet and command overlay.  All common commands there for 1 pick.

My favorite command, when they make it, will be to think the command and boom! done! lol. Right now, I'm digging the one key for a command...
