Pipes in multiple profile views
« on: May 12, 2016, 09:36:44 AM »
Given one pipe, and two alignments, is there any way to display the same pipe as a crossing in PV1, while showing it as parallel in PV2?
Or is the workaround to have separate DWGs for the profile views, and DRef the pipe network in?

To elaborate, open the pipes tab in the profile view settings, and change the override style.

Thanks gents!  I kept expecting to right-click on the pipe in the PV, and control the displayed style from there.

Yes - thanks, guys!

I greatly dislike using the PV Properties to manage pipes / structures. Especially the fact that deleting a single PV part, deletes it in all PVs. Grrr  Another topic, for another time.

Even with this valuable nugget, you're still relegated to showing the pipe crossing at the point of intersection with the Alignment, no?

In order to show the pipe (a tee as example), connecting to the branched pipe, you'd still need to copy the pipe from the point of interest ( the tee, offset from Alignment), perpendicular to the Alignment... And this assumes that the desired pipe is not before/after the PV's parent Alignment starting/stopping at another perpendicular Alignment, as the part would then either not be shown at all, or display incorrectly (like with self-intersecting Alignments).

Cheers
