Civil 3D | Dual Pipe Networks
« on: May 06, 2016, 10:24:10 AM »
Any way to adjust (or draw?) a parallel Pipe Network at the same respective elevations as the adjacent Pipe Network, without manually adjusting in Profile View?

As example: I have a pair of chilled water mains (supply/return) that are being piped throughout a college campus, dorms, etc. to connect to their HVAC. I've already done the first Pipe Network, and am only showing that in Profile View with 'dual' labels, adjusting critical parts at crossings, etc., for expediency... But I will ultimately need to have them both 'in-line' for later plan sheets.

Cheers

TRY...

draw first network..

export to land XML

edit it to the 'parallel' location

RENAME the network

import the one you exported above

Thanks, MJF - that's still a LOT of work though (multiple miles of pipes)

I may just create a Alignment+Profile from the Pipe's crown, extract a Feature Line, offset that, and the create a Pipe Network from the offset Feature line, but I still need to modify a LOT of Null Structures (assigning a Tee, 45, BFV, etc style). :|

ALTERNATELY

Use a corridor...one can A) use polyline object for custom assembly, or B)use generic links to make the pipes...

Seems like .net could help...but if you're like me...sometimes it's just easier to adjust things...if I hardly ever do that task anyway.
