Surface Jumps?
« on: April 05, 2016, 12:33:21 PM »
I've inherited a project that came with an incomplete Surface, that was done with the Inches, & International Feet.

When I get AutoCAD 2000 + EaglePoint drawings from my Surveyor, I usually just assign the datum, etc. and everything is seemingly fine... However, when I do so with this particular drawing, the surface jumps up more than 100 FT, which is a new one on me... I cannot export to LandXML, as Inches aren't supported.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This suggests that you start new drawing with your template.

Set Drawing settings as desired, turn OFF scale objects inserted from other drawings...

Then insert the file you received...and explode it

OR

adjust the datum of those points...

or post copy of file if possible for review

Inserting + Exploding yields the same result (forgot to mention that above).

Datum shift won't work, as two adjacent points are 'off' different values, as if the Surface has a vertical stretch factor applied?  As example: a point with EL 13.57 yields EL 160.92 (+147.35), and a point 9 LF away with EL 13.90 yields 166.68 (+152.78).

I'll see if I can post their drawing.

those look more like meters/feet conversion issues...
