Dynamic block in Multileader
« on: March 03, 2016, 03:32:47 PM »
For the Content part of my multileader I choose a dynamic block that i created. The block has a stretch parameter in it. Once the multileader is created the block has no dynamic abilities. Is there away around this? Or is it just not possible?

Thanks

pretty sure no....

as the block is now 'nested' inside the mleader definition

So you can do it but you have to reset the drag state, switch visibility state then stretch again?

Since you are already using a dynamic block, how about making the leader part of the block definition, with a polar stretch parameter.

EDIT: Quick example:

That would work out well. How did you make the leader part of that?

thanks

That would work out well. How did you make the leader part of that?

Created an MLeader with the desired appearance.
Exploded the MLeader and made a block from components.
Added Linear Stretch Parameter with two grips to the annotation side of the leader.
Added Linear Stretch Parameter with one grip to the leader dogleg.
Added Polar Stretch Parameter with one grip to the leader line & arrowhead.

I can upload a drawing later if you want.

Thanks Lee. Let me try it first. :)

I did something similar to Lee for a callout block that we insert from the Sheetset Manager, but didn't explode the multileader. That way the leaders flip sides as you stretch them around. I added visibility states to add up to 6 leaders. It's not ideal for your block but you may be able to steal some ideas from it.

Thanks for that Steve. It took me several tries but i got my block to do what i want.

BTW, there does not seem to be a whole lot of info regarding dynamic blocks and all parameters and actions. I see a lot of technical info but no howto's. If anyone has links to share that would be nice. :)

thanks
