It says here (http://www.poweranalytics.com/paladin-software/paladin-designbase/) that it is compatible.
Thanks,
The government keep changing what software they require for arc flash studies and the guy was saying it would interfere if both were running at same time which makes no sense since they would have they own process space.

The only way I can think of that happening is if it "drives" an AutoCAD session through COM/ActiveX, possibly to read DWG files.  Or possibly "interfere" was meant in the context of "Double click on DWG file opens Paladin rather than AutoCAD".

Unfortunately since both programs are based off the same programming code there isn’t a known workaround. Some customers are able to work with both applications installed however they experience sporadic application crashes or runtime errors. Therefore we recommend saving often if you attempt to have both installed on the same computer. You can also try opening up the program you wish to run first after a system restart which should allocate the system resources to that application. Setting DesignBase to run as administrator can also help it access the resources it needs to run. You can do this by right clicking on the shortcut to the application, selecting properties, clicking the compatibility tab, and selecting always run as administrator

Also note that DesignBase will need to be installed on a machine that doesn’t have Actrix based software such as AutoCAD or AutoDRAW. This is because DesignBase has the same base code and will attempt to use the same system resources.

From the sidelines, the above seems like a really DUMB decision on the part of the programmers involved.

Brilliant idea, "Hey let's make out software NOT work with or interfere with any other application a user may have on their system!"
Smashing Idea!

"Based of the same programming code" and "use the same system resources" means what, exactly?  Is the program based on AutoCAD OEM?

Hmmm.  OK, "Actrix".  Effectively dead software.  If they changed to AutoCAD OEM (or more likely, RealDWG since its probably their DWG reader/converter) then problem goes *poof*.   :rip:
