Ok I have one more for you. I have noticed more recently that when I select the a hatch that it takes a few milliseconds to actually select it in some of my drawings. Within those the drawings I have selected a entity and then have to wait a few milliseconds for my cursor to move, in order to grip the object. I have also tried closing the ribbon and all the other palettes and still get the same results.

Is just my machine? lol.

It could be your machine but it also can be a number of things having to do with something in the files. You mention hatches. Large areas of hatch or complicated boundaries could cause that. Using an XREF as a hatch boundary can also do that. Another good one is un-associated attributes in an XREF. I've seen a single one bring a drawing to a crawl. Point is that it is hard to narrow it down without a file.

Interesting. Ok. I think its more of a machine thing now, Just because I closed ACAD Completed, waited a few seconds and started back up. I then reopened the file and its like its normal again. I am going to guess a RAM thing?

A restart can clear some temporary issues, like your cache getting full. Do you restart on a regular basis?

How about computer maintenance? Delete files from temp folders, defrag (if you are not using an SSD), virus and malware scans, etc.

Is that stuff done a regular basis?

Yup. These our IT Dept does a great job of maintaining our systems.

You might want to try turning off hardware acceleration and see if that helps.

Could I ask an off the wall question. What is your thoughts with the AutoCAD and READYBOOST? Think that helps any or not worth it? I will try the hardware acceleration and see what we get.

Just get an SSD .. IMO that's one of the biggest performance boosters.

That's like saying you should defrag your hard drive... Get an SSD if you're still running spinny
