Topic: Paper Space Outline Gone

Just made the switch to 2016 from 2014.

The paper outline in layouts has gone from some files. That's right, some, not all. They were there in all files in the previous version. Nothing has changed except for the switch to 2016. I don't see anything new in page set-ups.

Is this some sort of new "feature"?

I did. I have it set so that it displays printable area but not the paper background. The way I've had it for years. What gets me is that only certain files are not showing the paper outline.

Just so I'm clear... it's not the viewport that's missing, correct? Can you post a screenshot?

I am talking about the dotted line that represents the edge of the paper.

These are taken from different files within the same session of AutoCAD.

The outline in the 2nd shot should be at the tic mark in the upper left.

Do you have DISPLAY PRINTABLE AREA toggled off?? That toggle controls the display of the dashed line.

It is on.

That setting is a system setting and affects all files.

Attached is a file that doesn't show the outline.

All of the printer/ctb settings are set and applied to this view? Because after I click APPLY TO LAYOUT and cancel out of the plot dialog box the dashed lines show up.

They are applied. The button is grayed out when I open plot dialog. I change, apply, and cancel and still no joy.

Since I don't have your plotter/printer I can't verify the settings but this seems to be the most likely culprit. The 0 margins is a recurring theme in my Googly search.
