trying to taper a faces on a 3d solid - propblem
« on: January 09, 2015, 02:20:06 PM »
Hello there,

So I drew a polygon (rectangle)
extruded it to a specific height.

So now I have a rectangle wall....

What I want to do is drop one side down so the wall is tapered....

I have tried using taper face, but it tapers the top of the wall in two directions.  I really just want it to taper the wall about the Y axis.

So I chose Taper face
then chose top face to taper
then my base point was chosen at the high point of the near side face
then my second point was chosen along the upper face of the wall at the other end on the same near face.
angle 30 deg

so the end result then is that is sloped along the wall (perfect) but also from near face to far face (not good) - which then gives me 4 different elevation points for my wall.  I just want two.

Any suggestions?

I am using C3D 2014 but am in just the 3D modeling (non civil side of the program)

thank you in advance
Gael

Face: Rotate

Rotate
Rotates one or more faces or a collection of features on a solid about a specified axis.

You can change the shape of the object by rotating its faces. This option is recommended for minor adjustments.
