Current tool to display the ACAD-database?
« on: March 01, 2014, 03:23:10 AM »
Some years ago there were "dbview.arx" to display the entire structure of the current ACAD-database; later there where the (pilot?)-tools "Inspector" and "ArxDbg" and "MgdDbg" http://through-the-interface.typepad.com/through_the_interface/2010/02/the-stephen-and-fenton-show-adn-devcast-episode-1.html?cid=6a00d83452464869e201310fc4ca6c970c#comment-6a00d83452464869e201310fc4ca6c970c

Which tools can be recommended for the current software (x64, Acad 2013 / 2014 (2015))?

Thanks and have a fine weekend
Peter

Well, that same page lists at least 2 other tools. MgdDbg (doing something similar through DotNet) and Inspector (including C++ source code). If you're a member of ADN you can even get the MgdDbg source to compile, or you can get it here: http://adndevblog.typepad.com/autocad/2012/04/dwg-debugger-mgddbg-app-for-autocad-20122013.html

Or you can also use the Reflector through DotNet: http://through-the-interface.typepad.com/through_the_interface/2007/01/reflecting_on_a.html and http://through-the-interface.typepad.com/through_the_interface/2007/02/using_net_refle_1.html and even extend it's capabilities if you so wish.
Common sense - the curse in disguise. Because if you have it, you have to live with those that don't.

Hi

who knows about the current state of these tools? Are the working on release 2015 / 2016, or is there a new one or a similar one? Googles newest results are from year 2013.

Thanks
Peter

The current download of ArxDbg on my blog supports 2015/2016.

Thanks - I got it.

(Maybe it would be good refresh the date on the website so Google will present it with the current date?)
