Ribbon Bar

New to Acad 2009 ( yeah I know....its 2013)

Trying to get back to classic as much as poss, but that ribbon bar (floating)comes on on every session.

How can I turn it off?

Alternatively, I would suggest using the WORKSPACES toolbar, and make sure that when things are set up as you wish, you save it as a named workspace.  That way if Autocad crashes and 'forgets' how you had your UI set up, or if something goes wonky in a random way, you can restore your UI to the way you wanted, easily, quickly.  There is a default workspace titled "Autocad Classic" even, which gets most classic lovers pretty close to the goal.

You can either type WORKSPACE at the command line or enable the WORKSPACE toolbar.

In regular, vanilla Autocad, I have the workspace drop-down integrated into the quick-access-toolbar.  You can customize the QAT in the CUI.

Red arrow points to the QAT location.  Blue arrow points to example of toolbar location.
