Associate Hatch To Existing Polyline
« on: November 19, 2013, 06:16:32 PM »
Does anyone have a routine that will associate an already created hatch to a polyline?

Coucou (french)

it is not necessary with the HATCHEDIT command you can recreate an associative outline.
unless you have a lot of hatch

Thanks, I am aware of that capability.  I was looking for a way to recreate a hatch object to a polyline with a shape different than the existing hatch, but it's probably just as easy to recreate the hatch to the new boundary.

What version you playing with?

2007 an on should have the HATCHSETBOUNDARY command.

The hatch may or may not be associated to the new boundary line.  BRB with that variable.

Thanks Krushert, I am using 2012 and have never used that before!  Guess I need to do a little more exploring!

As you can see there are couple of hatch editing commands there.  As architects we use the Set Origin a lot too in order set coursing height accurately with brick hatches.

I can not seem to find where to make the hatch associative.   I typically do not have my hatches set to associative because it cause more hassle that value.   And with the new grip editing features you can stretch the hatch and the polyline at the same time.  Thus having the hatch associative less of an priority.  My half cent opinion.

I don't use associative hatches much either.  I have used the recreate boundary and set origin options before, I just never noticed the set boundary option.
