Geographic vs Projected

Dear All

I have little knowledge about coordinate systems and want to clarify a point. Our client sends us drawings in Clark 1880 (which is Geographic coordinate system, Sphere based). The drawings contain points having only (x, y) values and drawn in Model space which resembles a projected coordinate system i.e. a flat surface.

I assume that points given in Clark should be represented in 3D environment and containing angular measurements instead of x, y. Please guide.

Thanks.
