What??!? NO TEES??!?
« on: January 24, 2013, 01:59:42 PM »
So there aren't any tees in Civil 3D??  I don't suppose anyone has a tee they'd like to share?  Or some basic instructions (in simple english, with LOTS of pictures) on how to create a tee??

This would be so much easier if it were done in Revit.  :|

Not sure what version you're using, but you share my frustration:-(

Are tees and crosses available as OOTB content for 2013?  Or is this just Autodesk's way of saying "LOOK WHAT YOU CAN DO!!!"  if you can ever figure out the parametric parts building interface.... BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

Yes, there are tees, crosses, elbows and valves. The pressure pipes do not use the same part builder, in fact I was able to learn how to create and add a Fire Hydrant in ~ 20 minutes. Downside, only Ductile Iron fittings were released with C3D2013. It's fairly simple (from what I've heard by other users) to add your own classification for PVC or whatever else you need.

Just a matter of copying the catalog and renaming a few items in the file

Do you still have to manually modify the *.APC (read .XML) file as we do for 2011, and 2012, or has a pseudo-named Parts Catalog Editor been added in 2013?

Sort of getting off-topic here but.... has anyone upgraded C3D models from 2012 to 2013?  If so, any issues with it?  I'd like to take advantage of what '13 has without compromising the integrity of the current drawings.
