OSNAPs Stopped Working
« on: November 20, 2012, 08:58:19 AM »
I have made no changes to any customizations, and this morning OSNAPs stopped working (i.e., OSMODE).

I checked OSMODE, and it's set correctly, I manually went into settings, etc. and all is fine. I've restarted, checked Metric (I use Imperial), and even tried Civil 3D As AutoCAD to no avail.

This issue is relegated to Civil 3D 2011, as 2012 works fine. There is a distinctive lag when first attempting to mouseover a line segment near an endpoint, yet no snap.

I'm about to remove all customizations, and try again... Other than that; suggestions?

TIA

Nope, even checked it in SysvDlg, OSOPTIONS = 3.

Is this on all drawings, or just one?

The reason I ask, is that something very similar happened on just one of my drawings recently too.
Thanks for explaining the word "many" to me, it means a lot.

Hi Jane - This is happening in all drawings for 2011, all profiles. 2012 has no issues.

I did receive a fatal error once: unhandled e0434352h exception, which hasn't seemed to yield much by way of the cause. I found one that suggested that the issue may reside within the .EXE, and to remove digital signatures, and restart. Tried it, but did not seem to fix.

I guess if you've tried many different possibilities, it could be ANYTHING.

It IS affecting ALL Osnaps?  This isn't one of those times when you're expecting an INTersection, but the two lines are at different elevations, thus not actually intersecting, is it?

You've tried rebooting the computer, right?

I just tried manually entering an osnap (i.e., END, INS, etc.), and it actually worked. Tried it again, success... Yet on screen no marker.

Went to options, drafting tab, and sure as cane be, Marker has been disabled (I usually keep it enabled). :|

**Off to find out what cause _that_ to happen**

any recent changes to video drivers?

are you not in plan view, world ucs?

is the sun setting in the West?

you may be forced to a repair install (limit to registry)

or have someone give you a working Profile from their installation to import and set current
