Datum Shift... Survey Points too?
« on: May 24, 2012, 04:02:41 PM »
Okay, I know it's simple to adjust the datum of Cogo Points, right click, Datum, yada, yada... But how do I include the Survey Points (that are locked by default)?  :?

The surveyor (our own, internally), mistakenly did the survey in 29, and the project requires 88 (-1.17'). I am trying to help our own survey group fix this.

What do I have to do, export to Land XML or something? I'm not a survey guy, if you couldn't tell already.

TIA

You should be able to go to the point in the survey database
unlock them in the drawing
and then move them
then update the database after the move

Or set it to autoupdate before the move

I clearly didn't do that correctly, as I tried to unlock them prior to posting. Is the a specific tutorial I can read through, to avoid asking for step-by-step instructions?

Toolspace, Survey Tab -
I've Opened the survey database for edit, selected the survey points node, selected all points in the point list, right click, points, unlock in drawing.

Toolspace, Propsector Tab -
Select Points node, selected all points in the point list (survey points are still greyed out), right click, datum, -1.17, enter.

Only the non-survey points change elevation... What am I doing wrong?  :?

actually it looks like this must be done outside of C3D and then reimport your points
if you insert the points to the drawing (cogo points)
then you can modify their datum

another option is to apply this datum change as an edit to the surface
