If it really works, it sounds like something Civil 3D should have had all along.  Perhaps is a sniff of the next generation of design software that will toss Civil 3D on the scrap heap along with LDT.
Makes me want to download a trial of Civil 3D, dust off some of my old data and have some fun.

Once you use it you will want to keep using it...
