Plotting Line Weight issue from different platforms
« on: February 28, 2012, 07:42:03 PM »
I run 2011 ACAD ACA and the other three designers run 2011 ACAD Vanilla.  When I plotted from ACA the line weight thickness is twice that of what is plotted from their three ACAD Vanilla seats.  I have ACAD Vanilla and I plotted the sheet and got the same result (and desired) results that they did.

  • Same ACAD File
  • Same CTB File.
  • Same Plotter.
  • Same PLOT Settings
  • Same Lineweight Settings
  • Same Channel
  • Same BAT Time

Similar Computers

I believe it is a issue with ACA.  I have checked and compared the usual settings and found dissimilarities.

Are they perhaps hitting the little toggle that reads: SCALE LINE WEIGHTS?

Also you might be fighting Visual Display Styles
versus
Layer Line Weight

those are not the same animal

We check that and all was the same. But how it scale line weights if the plot is ebing plotted at 1 to 1   :|

Where would I check for that?

Okay that was a Stupid question.  Both platforms are set for 2d wireframe.  **sigh**

Check that the same plotter driver is being used for both applications. I once found that the plotter drivers were updated in one version of AutoCAD and it plotted differently despite using the same plottign tables and settings.

By George, I think you've got it!!!!

One driver and dialogs for the same plotter for one version is totally different that the version.  Totally!.

Good night!

Freak if I know.  That's what happens after 3.5 days of working to midnight.  But how is that post any different than any other post of mine.  :| :|

A follow up:  Still waiting for the head honcho on this special KIP plotter software to come around and take a look.  It looks like a reinstall.

KIP 6000 400DPI Series.

Takes up a lot of floor space.  Seems to work pretty sweet.  Everybody is pretty protective of it.
