command switches in desktop icon???
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:19:52 PM »
hey guys i have a question about this target i've put in a coworkers icon. it reads as such:

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk Architectural Desktop 3\acad.exe" /t "P:\Library\Autocad Related Stuff\00-A-Val Shop Drawing Template.dwt" /b setup

the problem is when autocad opens the help file opens up. why is this happening and how do i prevent this from happening?

ummm... you really need to clean that up.  You're loading several dozen functions at setup, any one of which may be your problem.

sorry for the delay been out. is there a better way to load everything. i have a danloader lisp which looks something like this but does that load them upon startup so i could just put this lisp in my startup suite.

[/code](defun danloader (/ filelst)

  (setq
    filelst
    (list
      "BKH.LSP"
      "BL.LSP"
      "BLANK.LSP"

    )
  (setvar 'cmdecho 0)
  (foreach n filelst
           (if (not
                 (findfile n)
                 )
             (progn
               (prompt (strcat "\n" n " not found"))
               (princ)
               ); progn
             ;else
             (load n)
             ); if
           )
  (setvar 'cmdecho 1)
  (prompt "\nFiles Loaded.....")(princ)

I don't use scripts for what you're trying to do here, as a simple space somewhere in the code will cause the problem you're having.  As far as I can tell the script is a series of system variable sets that can be accomplished with a lisp using:
Code: [Select]
(setvar "blipmode" 0)and the like.  Once built it can be initialized in several ways with a startup function attached to an MNL.

That said, that's how we load user functions, through a menu specific MNL that uses (AUTOLOAD to load functions only when needed.  There's no need to load several dozen functions if you're not going to use them.

That'll work, but if you're gonna run it at the start of every session there's no need in making it a defined function (unless you wish to use the same during a session to reset).  I've explanded mine to cover EVERY setvar available.

Have you looked in AUTOLOAD yet for that behemoth of lisp routines you're loading?
