I thought the document was one of Lynn Allens tips and tricks sessions?

Or am I totally misunderstanding you good people ?

Nah, I'm fair certain it is or was a regular KB document...

and the kicker is, I'm pretty sure I saw it before I posted the first response in the thread....

however seeing that it was about 'modifying' the CUI, I discounted it as NOT being relevant. (wrong)
as it may very well prove to be...

I'm late to the party, and this might not be of any use to the topic, but we have a bunch of blocks here that weren't really created "properly" and they behave this way.
Revision blocks, for example, have many instances of the same attribute tag (ie. Drawn by: XX and Checked by: XX).  If the tags are the same, double clicking will not 'go to' the selected attribute... it will bring the first attribute up in the editor.  As long as the selected attribute is unique in that block, it will work as expected.

If that helps anyone... :?

You want to know if there is a way to turn off the AMPOWEREDIT command, so it is not invoked when you double-click.

Solution

There is no way to change this behavior in either AutoCAD® Mechanical or Autodesk® Mechanical Desktop®.

bit of a late one here...CTRL dbl-clk opens up the individual attribute in a txt box (not in the ATT Editor!)
