Section View Band Sets
« on: June 29, 2009, 10:14:59 AM »
Happy Monday everyone!

Question...(I hope I can explain myself.)

I'm creating Cross Sections, I have a band set that gives me existing cl grade and design cl grade.

Problem is, I have 5 different corridors I am creating cross sections for, but I can only get the design cl grades to come in for one corridor.

In "create multiple section views", in the "data bands" category, when I attempt to set "surface 2" to the corridor surface I want, only the existing ground and corridor surface for first road shows up.

Any ideas why my 4 other corridor surfaces aren't an option to pick from?

Happy Monday....!   :lmao:

Are the Regions for these surfaces turned on within the corridor?

You might want to explore your Sample Line Group properties, and ensure that you included those surfaces at the time you created it.  You will see there is a sample more sources option to add them in at this time.

Can I see the file?

Banner,

You can only show surface information in the band set and not corridor information.  Make sure you created a surface for the other corridors and that those surfaces are sampled for the sample lines.  The surface doesn't need to be displayed in the section view but it does need to be sampled.

After Seeing the data, one might

Go to the the corridors, and verify the corridor surface names

Go to the Sample Line Group, and be sure to remove, and or Add the surfaces as desired.

Then create the section views over; even though they are dynamic they do not have the correct surfaces chosen for the Band Set to display.  And it's easier to just wipe the originals out.

The 'lesson' for Monday:

After one Creates an Object in C3D; it is Rarely a Good Idea to Go Renaming them....

unless one decides the original name was really bad.   :lmao:

You will want to look at this topic http://www.theswamp.org/index.php?topic=24625.msg297035;topicseen#msg297035 to see how best to get your sections into your sheet set
