Biggest and baddest plotter??

We're looking at getting a new HP 5550 in 42" format.  I need input from you guys.  Are you using something better and/or faster?? We've got an estimate from a local rep for $11,895.  

We currently have an HP 1055 and we'll be moving that to one of our remote field offices.  There's a few drawings we have where that has become too slow for us.  Basically, we're looking for a faster and larger plotter.

Hit me with your digits!!

I need this quick sooooo.. T-Bear, put down the donut, Dent, ummm, stop looking at that website, Mark, quit diggin in the back yard!!

We are using a KIP6000 it produces 8 pages a minute and is capable of E size drawings. The paper tray for catching the plots leaves alot to be desired so I took the one that came with the plotter (like the first day) and the one that came with the scanner, cut 'em up with bolt cutters and rebuilt a tray that would suit my needs ... The boss nearly lost his mind until I showed him how my design was much better ...

you're getting the best, don't worry about the rest! you can always find "cheaper" than HP, but you will NEVER find "better" than HP.

We got the baddest thing sinced sliced bread (and about as old too).  We use an HP 650C.  About 10 years old and produces a whopping 12 E1's (30x42) in one hour.  Whew!  I new that was gonna blow you away.  Top that!

Does it need to be color

We just bought a Oce TDS400 - Works great - ours is B?W but you can get a color one. This is also a scanner.

Just get the newest OCE there is!

They are Sweet and you will never have to switch paper for differant sizes.
